    RIP my mentions, but seriously…what makes anyone believe they’re qualified to homeschool their kids K-12? it’s not as if teaching a) isn’t age-, grade-, and subject-specific; and b) requires a college degree in pedagogy

    being forced to bear your rapist’s child due to an abortion ban doesn’t *just* mean you’re forced to give birth (which is bad enough) it also means the family court system will most likely force you to interact with your abuser, frequently, for 18 years

    for all the white dude PhDs out there who aren't getting this: the reason you can get away with "just call me Dave" is because by sheer virtue of your White Dudeness your authority/expertise is never questioned the rest of us have to add in "Dr" just to get folks to return calls

    I mean, hell, I have…lemmee count…13 + 4 + 2 + 6 = 25 years of education (27 if you count postdocs and postbacs) and 4 degrees in both the sciences and the humanities, and I would never presume to believe I was qualified to teach all subjects? for every grade?? and all ages?

    I’m guessing it’s because when she asked me why I was putting on makeup I didn’t want to say “to make me pretty” (and therefore imply that people aren’t pretty without makeup), so instead I said “because I want to feel fancy today”
