Statler would like to thank everyone who has shared his video, he is quite proud of it. He has asked us to record his daily flight tomorrow, to share with his adoring fans. Stay tuned. 🦇
Say hello to Graham, who went for an accidental swim in a nearby lake. He was treading water and extremely weak, but was saved by some kind people that drove him to us! He arrived in style, comfortably nestled in a graham cracker box. He will be released once he's a bit stronger!
Our wonderful boy, Statler, has left us.
He passed in the arms of his beloved caretaker, Moriah, while napping in the morning sun. He will be laid to rest next to Chessie, & old friend Walter.
We love you, Statler. Thank you for the years you gave us, and the trust you put in us
STOP what you're doing. Meet Theodore. Watch Theodore do the cutest yawn you've ever seen.
*Theodore was orphaned due to a cat attack. Do your part- keep your kitties inside please!*
Rosebud, a beautiful yellow bat, is visiting us from BW MidCities. She came into care back in Feb during a cold snap. Rosebud was found to be suffering from frostbite, as well as pregnant. She will stay with us and have her pups in luxury, all while being fed her fill of worms
This little Mexican freetail was one of our non-releasable orphans from this year’s pup season. When she was rescued, she was missing one of her back feet from an injury, earning her the name Footloose.
Dinner was 58 seconds late tonight- and Charlie the evening bat was NOT happy. He made it very clear that the level of service he was receiving was not at all acceptable, and he would be leaving an appropriate review. 😤
"Excuse me, ma'am. Today, I wanna do it myself."
Travis decided to be extra cute during mealtime by climbing into the bowl and munching on some worms himself. He still didn't mind the extra hand-out, though! I wonder if little worms crawling through your hair feels good? 😂
As you may recall, in March we took in our largest fruit bat rescues to date - over 300 female short tailed fruit bats made their way to Texas to find permanent sanctuary with us. On arrival, it was found that many of them were expecting, so they were transferred into our... 1/3
The support this boy has received has blown us away. If you would like to contribute to our organization and the over 400 bats we serve, here is a link. We, and Statler, are so grateful for the support. Much love from the BWS staff. #Statlerbatworld.org/ways-to-donate/
Bet you didn't know bats played with toys. 😃 The bats at Bat World Sanctuary have five toy baskets filled with different objects they can snag, fly off with, chew on, drop and the fly back to get another one.

We'd like to extend a big congratulations and a round of applause to Bitsy the Evening bat! 🎉
Last night, he picked up his very first mealworm- all by himself! Soon he will be able to feed himself and won't need us to hand feed him twice daily. 🦇
