    30 years ago today, Boston College football took down No. 1 Notre Dame on the road. With Eagles kicker David Gordon successfully executing a 41-yard field goal, the Eagles won within the last seconds of the game and defeated the national title frontrunners.

    On this day, we remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, including Boston College alumnus Welles Crowther, "the Man in the Red Bandanna." When faced with the choice of leaving the South Tower for safety or heading back in to help others, he chose the latter.
