Most management advice sucks. My progression into management happened fast. At 22 I had a team of 4, by 23 I had a team of 70 and at my last company, Yext the team was north of 2,000. I devoured everything I could find on how to manage. Books, blogs, articles, podcasts, whatever

Yes. This is very simple. Founders who don’t do the basics like this are designing the way they run their company around the bottom performers.

This is something we see @trywindmill. What's commonly referred to as Span of Control can increase dramatically if you're use AI properly to manage your team. This is actually one of the highest leverage things a rapidly scaling org can do because good managers become a gating
Managers were already disappearing. Enter AI.

As usual, @HarryStebbings nails it. The road to that initial PMF can take a while and is unpredictable (see @clay_gtm @figma @beehiiv @canva, etc), but once you figure it out and it’s time to step on the gas, great teams seize the opportunity.

I do not care how long it takes for a company to get to $1M in revenue. But I do care desperately, how long it takes for a company to get from $1M-$50M in revenue. The road to PMF is messy, post PMF, it is a game of execution and velocity (speed in a given direction.)
