Discord has easily been the highest ROI app in my life. I learned minecraft there, got into college, met my cofounder (4 yrs ago), found a customer, hired, all thanks to discord, and now our entire company basically runs on the app lol. Never bet against discord

YC is interesting because everyone is using each other’s products. people sometimes frame that negatively like it’s fake revenue (??) but this is so valid because these products are SOTA in each category, it is almost stupid to not build your entire stack out of other companies

the friend wearable would do much better in Tokyo. People are lonely, less anti-tech, high tolerance for weird public ads, high tolerance for weird tech, population density, subway, etc. I’m sure the nyc campaign was successful but the product will see more pmf in Tokyo
