What's the smallest value of N where this card is playable in many Standard formats? 2 N/N Trample CARDNAME can't block. When CARDNAME attacks or blocks, sacrifice it at end of combat.- Teval is one of my favorite cards I've ever designed! - With #MTGTarkir prerelease well underway I figured I'd do another design thread about developing the most challenging clan: Mardu. #wotcstaff 🧵
- Three-color cards can be challenging because, by their very nature, they cannot cost less than 3 mana and they only go into very specific decks. During #MTGTarkir development, we wanted to make sure the 3c cards felt special and could live up to their mana costs.
- You may notice there are no +1/+1 counters in ONE. This was decided pretty early on, and Play Design had to institute a swear jar for every time one of us suggested a +1/+1 counter somewhere.
- TIL about a new KCI loop I hadn’t seen before in my monored cube. It was only discovered 24hrs after the match ended because the player was sure he had one despite being unable to prove it in game. The loop in question:

- Fuck it I’ll just start now you can’t stop me. It’s really hard to design 3-color cards that _feel_ 3c without doing 3 different things. I think this Narset passes the bar. Also I think Narset is the character I’ve designed the most cards for (MAT and TDM)
When Tarkir spoilers get into full swing I am going to be SO insufferable #wotcstaff - I've been pretty silent because I've had so many feature matches, but I TOP 8D A PRO TOUR!!!! I'm even first seed going into the Top 8, so I'll get the choice of play/draw. I'm so happy this has been a longterm goal of mine for so many years.
- This is probably the last day I'll do one of these, since almost the whole set of #MTGTarkir is revealed. I've got a few short stories of some rares with the set mechanics! #wotcstaff
