    The police gassed, beat, and stampeded the people today to protect a statue of a rapist, murderer and a thief. A statue of colonialism is more precious to them than our lives and safety. We need CPAC now to control the police. #CPACnow

    Jacob Blake deescalated a violent situation and Kenosha police shot him seven times in the back. They then teargassed the people who were demanding #JusticeForJacobBlake. Police don't keep us safe. This is why we demand #DefundThePolice and #CPACNow in every city.

    Rahm Emmanuel was forced to resign because he sat on the video of Laquan McDonald's murder by Chicago Police officer Jason Van Dyke for 400 days. This was one of most heinous murders in Chicago history. He has no place in any leadership position given his reprehensible behavior.

    Police have surrounded protesters who were trying to disperse and are now arresting and brutalizing them for not dispersing. Once again the police are proving that they don't keep us safe. Kettling is a tactic designed for police violence and mass arrests. #DefundCPD #CPACNow

    The people of this city have been working together to keep each other safe from your policies and your police force. You need to release everyone who was arrested for protesting and drop all charges against them. And enact #CPACNow so we don't have to go through this again.

    In Chicago over the weekend it is clear that THE PEOPLE keep us safe: hand out water, make sandwiches, do medic care, wait outside jails to give strangers a ride home, that check in on one another... & it is the police that escalate violence and destruction. We need #CPACnow!
