    We have officially made first contact with our #SAR satellite following today's mission with @SpaceX. The satellite is in good health and will now undergo commissioning. We look forward to sharing our first light images. Until then enjoy a #SpaceSelfie from LC39A!

    And now...(drumroll)...the fully deployed reflector! This 3.5 m diameter structure made from knitted material is the eyes and lens of the radar and allows the satellite to capture images of what’s happening on Earth. 😍💛🛰️ #SAR #Satellite #StrongerTogether #Earth

    We have successfully deployed the antenna onboard our newest spacecraft! This involves precise tensioning of the reflector to approximately 3.5m in diameter while orbiting at 17,500 mph.

    UPDATE: Capella's 3D radar imaging captures the #LaSoufriere #Volcano dome collapse on St. Vincent. #SAR satellites can see through smoke and volcanic ash for 24/7 disaster response data. This 50cm very high-resolution image is from April 14, 2021 - 3:21pm UTC.

    What makes radar satellite imaging unique? It can see at night when others can’t. Capella's nighttime imagery shows the #EverGiven at 9:24 PM Egyptian time still blocking the #SuezCanal. No optical satellite will be able to report on this for hours. #SAR #allweather #nightvision

    Possible nuclear powered ballistic missile submarines and tactical nuclear powered attack submarines at Russia's Sadya Guba Submarine Base. Located high in the Arctic, Sadya Guba is often obscured by clouds. Capella's cloud-free SAR imagery allows for simple visual analysis.

    Thank you @SpaceX for a smooth ride to orbit. Our team has taken over the operations and have made successful contact with both Capella-3 and Capella-4. We will take the next few weeks to go through commissioning and calibration of both SAR satellites.
