My startup provided data gathering and analysis for politicians in the last general election. Yes, the opportunities are there, but I almost got killed. I appeared in court as an expert witness; got lucrative offers (read as bribes) which I declined, was threatened, to the

โ€œPolitical Techโ€ is a thing. Strangely, the PDP was far ahead in this regard in Nigeria, and I met a Kenyan founder who had built software to gather field organizing data for them. He developed cold feet in the last election. Barack Obama took everyone by surprise in 2008

Itโ€™s very sweet. You donโ€™t have to worry about money or immigration issues. You won't need a POF. I attended the 'visa interview' with a calm mind (t-shirt and jeans), flew to Abuja same day, went to embassy and was out in no time. Was paid to study, paid to attend my

So I moved to a new apartment ( lodge) in 200 level, when I started making some good money from tech. The lodge in question was a โ€˜big boysโ€™ lodge (self-contain, light, gen, water, new building, etcโ€ฆ you know that stuff). Of course, I met a lot of โ€˜big boysโ€™ and quickly made

My bolt driver's wife called when he was about dropping me off this night. She was nagging and speaking angrily- "where are you? shey you've still not met the target? na so customers scarce?. Man couldn't say a word. Couldn't shout back. Was just sighing. He was obviously bitter.

A lot of men are carrying loads that aren't "theirs". Many are forced to become providers while still children themselves. Many are earning but its not showing on them-footing bills here and there. Please be kind to your man (father, husband, brother, cousin BF etc).Men cry!

Men are suffering and nobody is paying attention. The expectations, the demands- from family, friends and foes. Worse is the sense of entitlement from people. When a man provides, it is nothing that he should be appreciated for, after all it is his DUTY. This has to change!

We had a man-to-man chat and he talked about how difficult things have been for him since he lost his job. He's frustrated. He's doing his best to provide for his wife and son. Working extra hours while spending close to nothing on himself. Being a man can be a thankless job.

PS: The use of "my Bolt driver" was not intended to be derogatory- taking Bolt also say something about me. Secondly, would it have sounded derogatory if it were to be "my lawyer, or my doctor"? Jobs and titles shouldn't define us or the respect we accord to people IMO.

My uni days were very sweet. I lived like a king, schooled on my own terms, started a company, drove a Corolla in 400L, had a driver at some point, and bought myself a car as a graduation gift (Toyota Camry SEโ€ฆ muscle sport). But all that might not have happened if I hadnโ€™t

#Futarians look who I ran into. Best Maths Lecturer ๐Ÿ‘Œ. He will tell you to keep asking him questions because "you should enjoy father's money". He asked if I'm coming to FUTA for PhD, I told him I'm still finding the Echelon matrice. #futa #Maths
