I bought a new car. Cost of car - 13.02 lakhs GST on car - 5.86 lakhs Road tax - 3.78 lakhs Total tax - 9.64 lakhs 74% tax on the cost of car. No wonder most of can’t afford cars in India.

Making charges on gold coin at Tanishq stores is 8%, Malabar is 4% and 0% at my friends gold shop. Any branded player where in store purchase of gold coin is cheaper than 4%?

Buy real estate. Pay stamp duty. Pay brokerage. Pay taxes to own it every year. Pay maintenance. Pay to guard it. Then get screwed like this.

Spoke to someone today who bought a 18 lakhs car the moment his salary went up from 15 lakhs to 20 lakhs earlier this year. Current net worth - negative. How are people comfortable with this? What cant a 6 lakhs car solve that 18 lakhs one solves?

Because of poor service from Eureka Forbes, we decided to switch to another RO purifier. Subscribed to Livpure. We use it at our office in Gurgaon. It’s been more than a week since I paid. Took 3 days for purifier to deliver and it’s been sitting since then for installation.

Some thoughts on how I like to spend money - 1. Buy durable stuff Spend money on things that last very long. For example, my wallet is 5 years old and counting. Buy things that are built to last. I use the slim fold wallet that my wife gifted in 2018.

NPS contribution through employer, which is tax exempt, has been increased to 14% from 10%. This is superb change. Effective 1 April 2025.

My wife is the best long term investor. All money in mutual funds, epf and ppf. Doesn’t care about volatility. Doesn’t look at her investments. Qualities of a wealth creator.
