- Fireworks Notification On Saturday, 6/13/26, 9 pm, there will be a fireworks display (10 minutes), over the Potomac River in Alexandria, VA. This is part of the Sails on the Potomac Festival & ALX Jazz Fest. Fireworks sounds may be heard in DC. Do not be alarmed.
- DC Fire and EMS' Strategy & Impact Division returned to the Community impacted by the fatal fire in the 3500 Blk. of Minnesota Ave. SE through our Return to Community (RTC) initiative. The residents learned Hands on Hearts CPR and was given fire education information.
00:00 - A small pup found itself in a scary situation when its paw became entrapped in an escalator at Farragut West Metro Station. Thanks to the quick response of DC Fire and EMS, the dog was safely rescued and reunited with its relieved owner.
