🚨 British racing faces an unprecedented threat – a tax raid which could see it lose £66 million a year and tip it into irreversible decline. We need to stop the racing tax before it's too late. ✍️ Click below to sign the petition to #AxeTheRacingTax and help save our sport ⤵️

Very sad news. David was a huge racing fan, advocate for the sport & a good friend. Despite our different political backgrounds, I really enjoyed working with him on the Lords Digital committee and talking about racing whenever we could. He will be much missed by many.

Lord Lipsey was a staunch supporter of British horseracing and formerly an APPG member. Our condolences to his family at this incredibly sad time.

🤝 Our thanks to @SallyJameson for highlighting the potential impact on British racing and her Doncaster constituency of the Treasury's gambling tax harmonisation proposals. We look forward to further discussions with @hmtreasury. #BackBritishRacing #AxeTheRacingTax

British horse racing is the best in the world, but its funding model is broken. Securing a levy deal in racing’s favour and setting out a plan to significantly increase prize money are essential to the industry’s future success.

Horse racing is a £4.1 billion British success story, and derives much of its income from responsible gambling. Today I asked the Secretary of State if she will reform the Betting Levy and disproportionate affordability checks.
