- By request: here is the EKG technique for pericardiocentesis. Use alligator clip to attach V-lead to spinal needle. Advance slowly from subxiphoid. Tracing looks like a normal V-lead; if you touch the RV you see STEMI-looking injury current on the EKG. #OldSchool @TheNarulaSeries
