Parents - no bedtime rules tonight.
Watch game 7 and talk baseball w your kid(s).
If your kids are baseball fans, they’ll remember this time with you when they do the same w their own kids.
Director of Hitting / Chicago Cubs - President of Elite Baseball Training in Chicagoland and Hitter's Baseball in Wisconsin
- 6, 7 and 8 year old kids playing ball in my neighborhood tonight. Grabbed my glove and put on an impromptu infield clinic under a street light in Chicago.
00:00 - I grew up w 2 parents that did everything for me for baseball. We didn’t have much money, yet I had a batting cage on our rural property. They were exhausted after working blue-collar, 9-5 jobs, yet never said “No,” when they came home and I had a bat or glove in my hand...I’m in Montana right now visiting family. Just passed by a baseball field by my parents house. This dad is throwing BP to his kid while holding up a twin mattress with his other hand... and it’s below freezing outside. Had to take a pic. This is dedication!
GIF - My daughter has her first Pee-Wee baseball game tomorrow. She already lost her hat. I’m the coach. I fined her $5.
- Here are some highlights from the first day of the mechanics and bat speed class. 30 players with 6 coaches (4 of which coach in pro ball). Listen to the audio for some of what was taught today.
00:00 - We’ve tested thousands of guys and girls in our bio lab at this point. Still the most efficient use of body - for speed and power we’ve ever tested. Guy or girl. Pro or amateur. And at prob 135-140 pounds. @Sierrajoy32The whole field can get it (the stands too)! 📹: @Sierrajoy32
00:00 - Sequence / scap load / anchor the upper body. Obvious parallels to pitching but looks a lot like our hitting drills. And I’m a Cowboys fan.
00:00 - I have no stake in the game in FBS football. But I don’t think it’s a coincidence why this guy turns around programs. Who doesn’t want to play for a high energy, motivator of people, that shows players they care for them? I’m not sure where stoic, tough love plays as much today
- If you ever wanted to see the influence of the weight room on performance: 10% increase in lean muscle mass = 10% greater force in the bat = 3.8% increase in bat speed = 3 mph increase in bat speed (for a pro) = 15 feet of ball flight = ~ 45% increase HRBiP Numbers by @pobguy
- Just scrolled twitter - and here is a PSA: Nobody cares how hard you can hit a ball off of a tee. In fact, it can be detrimental to your development if used as such.
