I wonder why women can't control themselves when they see famous men. They are just human beings as you. Come on ladies 😭

In Nigeria, this woman would be dead by now. And no, I am not exaggerating.

Please, can we try to orally time stamp the videos we are recording on the ground in Nigeria. If you can, mention the full date and time as you record the video once or twice. #ENDSARS

This is why we need to invest more in producing and publishing our own work. Imagine after being force-fed colonial languages, being forced to speak it better than its owners then being told that no one used basic words like 'delve' in real life. Habibi, come to Nigeria.

Someone sent me a cold email proposing a novel project. Then I noticed it used the word "delve."

Poverty is terrible. But worse than poverty in Nigeria is the fear of poverty which has turned a whole generation of academics, artists & professionals into a crass hustler class shorn of all decency, discernible values or shame, their thoughts & ideas driven solely by the hustle

I was born and spent years in a face-me-I-face-you in the heart of Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna. The compound was right in front of the tree that was the center of Unguwar Rimi, where it was rumored to begin (not sure if it is still there). It consisted of single rooms. One room.

Beyond the laughs, what Paul Graham did and doubled down on is dangerous and colonial. Any of us were flogged for using vernacular in school. We are treated with suspicion when we travel to the west, made to prove our knowledge many times over. Our knowledge is doubted, belittled

Nigerian culture glorifies and enables fraud. It is everywhere. We criminalize poverty. I will never forget Nigeria in 2015. Here on Twitter people were laughing when my book first came out. If he is so smart why is he trekking upandan in Abuja. They mocked me for walking.

Actually you know what? Fuck Nigerian politicians. All of them. Including the ones who are sick. And fuck empathy. They are murderers. Every single person who dies because there wasn't a ventilator or equipped hospital is on them. Fuck prayers for these fuckers.
