- 🚨 The Tokyo High court rules Japan’s ban on same-sex marriage is “unconstitutional” (違憲)! This is the best possible case for marriage equality advocates & the LGBT community. It’s a “hard” unconstitutional ruling and not an ambiguous “state of unconditionality (違憲状態)”.
- Japan’s newly elected PM met with neo-Nazis, endorsed a book on Adolf Hitler’s political strategies, advocated shutting down media outlets she disliked while serving as communications minister, and is such an extremist that members of her own party have nicknamed her "Taliban."
- Sexual harassment is rampant in Japan. Sadly, nearly every female friend of mine has at least one story.Reports of how female Fuji TV announcers were forced to "entertain" male celebrities have sparked a new hashtag - #私が退職した本当の理由 (the real reason I quit my job) - of women sharing outrageous (and outraging) stories of workplace sexual harassment.
