NYCs massive #ClimateStrike march has begun, from Foley Sq down Centre St to Chambers St across to Broadway... and down to the Battery! Thank you @ClimateCrisis and everyone else marching!
Spoke to ABC and asked that they broadcast live @JoeBiden’s speech this evening @TimesSquareNYC and they agreed. No sound but it will be captioned! Thank you ABC for making it happen. 8pm, 44th and Broadway.
Amy Cooper leveraged her background in an attempt to have police act harshly toward an innocent man, even though SHE was in the wrong. We know that African Americans face these kinds of unjust & deep-seated suspicions each and every day. Glad Ms. Cooper is being held accountable.
#BREAKING: @ManhattanDA has charged #AmyCooper with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree. She’s been issued a DAT and will be arraigned in October 14.
Amy Cooper not only undermined Chris Cooper’s humanity but she put his life in danger when she escalated the situation, even though she broke the rules. This incident could have turned out much worse. Thanks to DA Vance for holding Ms. Cooper accountable. Our parks belong to all.
Joseph Rosenbaum, 36 and Anthony Huber, 26 — victims killed by Kyle Rittenhouse. The killer walks free thanks to a miscarriage of justice in WI. Huber leaves behind a stepdaughter, and Rosenbaum a daughter. White supremacy, guns, & institutional racism are a toxic combination.
Only a quarter of the subway system is accessible, keeping thousands of elderly and disabled NYers from the system and leading to horrible incidents like this. Riders deserve a specific time frame on the agency’s plans to achieve full accessibility.
I'm calling on @NYPDShea to lift the barricades & end the siege mentality. The NYC Charter establishes the concept of the streets as public space that belongs to the people. @THECITYNYbit.ly/2YYjQ3S
I am calling on Chancellor Porter and the NYC DOE to offer children and families a remote learning option for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Street vendors make our city great, have shown up for NYC throughout the pandemic without any support, and are pioneers of outdoor dining.
Let’s not over-police & criminalize the already vulnerable among us.
