This is how my team left the dugout after a tough loss to end our season. It was a tough day where a number of things didn’t go our way and they still left the field like this—without me telling them to do so. Proud of my guys for fighting until the last out.
Umpire called a strike. You sure the field umpire didn’t call a balk here? Player was going back to base and looked out in the field then celebrated as he came home. Looks like a balk may have been called.
Please welcome Coach Guy Howard and his family to @NHSJagBaseball . Coach Howard's stops have included Orange Beach High School and Hewitt-Trussville. He brings tremendous vision for building championship programs and high performing student-athletes. @tuscaloosanews@h_tusc
Beyond grateful for my time at Hewitt. The amount of success we’ve enjoyed doesn’t compare to the relationships made with colleagues, players, students, and parents. This was a tough decision, but Holly and I are excited for what the future holds.
Congrats @glhoward12 for being named Head Baseball Coach at Orange Beach High School. Guy was a big reason for our success the last 7 years developing our players. While at Hewitt we won the 2016 state championship, appeared in 3 state finals & final 4 four years. #theHTprocess
Area champs. Really proud of this group. They’ve played a tough schedule and have done well so far. Playoff baseball in our state is really hard to beat. Best time of the year. Despite the fact that these knuckleheads drive me crazy at times, I’m thankful to be around them.
Wow! Back to back weeks with must win games on the road to keep our season alive. A word we like to use in our program is grit and we showed a lot of it this weekend. First road playoff series win in school history. Very proud of this group! On to the Sweet 16!
Jags are moving on to round 2 with a 4-1 win. Gutsy pitching from Paul Reid and Bodie Vail ,Jones Colgrove and Davis Randolph led at the plate with 2 hits each. Survive and advance
Basketball plays half the players baseball does but gets more scholarships? If the argument is bc NCAA bball brings in more money, then how do you explain hockey getting 6.3 more scholarships?
The first time I heard the Gospel I was 12 yrs old at one of Coach Shoop’s camps. I was invited by his son and my little league teammate. When I look back on my life, that camp really changed me. Thank you Coach Shoop for the Man of God you are. God bless you in your retirement.
Another rained out practice means finding creative ways to get work in. Tonight we got the chance to use Alabama’s indoor football facility. We got some quality work in and even had time to play some 7 on 7. I don’t think Coach Saban will be recruiting our guys anytime soon 😂
Got tired of practicing on a wet field so we made a trip up the highway to the @hoovermetplex to get our scrimmage in. Thank you to the parents who drove us and made the trip possible. Just over 2 weeks away from opening day!
What a great night! Two great pitching performances, timely hitting, sound defense, and a great atmosphere to play in. I’m so very proud and happy for this team! Especially our seniors!!
Thank you to my seniors. Can’t say how much I love you guys! What y’all have done over the last two years for Northridge baseball has been outstanding. Thank you for giving me your best, leading and playing with class, leaving a legacy, and helping put the ‘Ridge on the map!
Our end of the year banquet is typically a fun night. This year, however, was the night I told my juniors I wasn’t coming back. Hardest thing I’ve done in my entire life. I’m forever grateful for my time at Northridge and for the people that help make it a special place. Go Jags!
