    The traditional Christmas Eve procession of the Catholic Patriarch of Jerusalem to Bethlehem. Usually celebratory and accompanied by Christmas carols. This year it was silent and local Palestinian Christians carried banners supporting Gaza and calling for ceasefire

    This is genuinely amazing. “Every night without fail, a mobile phone rings in the Holy Family church in Gaza, and a parish priest answers. The voice at the end of the line is that of Pope Francis”.

    In a few weeks, every woman in Afghanistan will be forced to wear this. They will not be allowed to go to school. That’s what Taliban taking over means for women. That’s what the US withdrawal will do to women

    Hamas feels abandoned by Iran. It appears plan was for Hizbollah to get involved but US threats against Iran stopped that. The original Hamas plan hasn’t worked out not because of Israeli attacks (which Hamas would have predicted) but because Iran effectively betrayed them

    People in the UK need to put things into perspective re PPE. I am in regular contact with people in Europe & over here & most in the rest of Europe are envious of the UK’s position. I’ve seen horrific footage from Europe. Don’t let the Left hijack the collective success of us all

    Whether the new Italian government lasts 1 day or 10 years, it is clear that the EU is at its end. It is a sinking Titanic and the sooner countries jump off, the greater their chances of survival. This clearly makes Britain the most viable European country

    Qatar invites Indian extremist preacher Zakir Naik to preach at @FIFAWorldCup. Naik was banned from entering Britain in 2010 for his extremism preacher. He is now at the Qatar World Cup radicalising Muslim youth attending #Qatar2022 #FIFAWorldCup

    Calling to extend lockdown because of the Indian variant exposes lack of logic behind lockdowns. If vaccines aren’t going to work against this variant, what’s the point of the lockdown? It is more becoming about control and loss of perspective, and failure of public health policy
