The flower moon has many colors. Choose one and find a stem, pick it free. Care for it where you are. Listen to how the flower sings, Di di di. Sing back to the flower, La la la. Look at the moon, your color is there, too. #65 is live! gonelawn.net/journal/issue6…

We're announcing a special issue, separate from our regular issues, dedicated to excerpts from yet-unpublished novels & novellas. Go to Gone Lawn and submit your excerpt! Approx. 3000 words or less. If it's a little over, we won't complain.

Since we reopened submissions, stunned by the response. Yes! Keep them coming! I also really, really want to encourage you weirdo writers to submit more, you know who you are and you know you have it!

I know I do these things quickly. Amy Barnes will be Gone Lawn's new co-editor, starting June 1. She appears in the upcoming issue, and also comes at Maura's high recommendation. Welcome, Amy! @amygcb

Rejections are so difficult. No editor enjoys it. It took the longest time to try to figure out a kind way to do it. I still don't think it works, but we've really tried. Sigh. It pains me when our form rejections appear online under poor light, as if we've failed.

Just a note: we're still accepting regular submissions for #46, our autumnal equinox issue! Both that and the unpublished-novel-excerpt issue.

Gone Lawn has always been a weak horse, but we're proud of the niche we've cultivated regarding odd and quality literature in a culture desperately in need of it. We keep going!
