- our team built the first versions of @darkforest_eth through the 2019-2020 crypto bear markets on a total of about 60k in grants. during this time ETH dipped below $100 money is not the bottleneck. your nonexistent metaverse "game" doesn't need $100mm to succeed ๐
- in 10 yrs "zk dapps" won't be a distinct concept, much like today we don't call websites "https apps" most apps based on blockchain data will also rely on ZK or related tech (FHE, MPC, witness encryption) to enforce basic mechanics like info asymmetry; this will be table stakes
- "A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked. A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work. You have to start over with a working simple system."
- people sometimes ask, "why is building fully on-chain interesting?" one of the best articulations of this is tucked in the footnotes @saffronhuang's recent piece on crypto-native governance schemes (see it at 0xparc.org/blog or at baby.mirror.xyz) (1/n)
- the strongest crypto gaming thesis - why we're building @darkforest_eth preview of some of the content we'll be posting on @viamirror. vote for us tomorrow at mirror.xyz/race gubsheep.substack.com/p/the-strongesโฆ
- Replying to @walden_yan @amirbolous and @apolynyathis answer won't be that satisfying but i am not sure i can pick out a single "crux" or "catch." in summary i think that @0xpolygonhermez team made sensible design decisions and demonstrated outstanding execution; @jbaylina is a powerhouse
- the Hey vs App Store dispute is a manifestation of Kishimoto's ideas about the struggle between Naruto and Sasuke, updated to a modern world view in which a platform, rather than Sasuke, controls a metaphorical "Sharingan" (network effects/control of production and distribution)The Hey vs. App Store dispute is a manifestation of Karl Marxโs ideas about the struggle between capital and labor, updated to a 21st century world in which a platform, rather than a factory owner, controls the means of production and distribution. theverge.com/2020/6/16/2129โฆ

- Honored to be a part of the 2020 Thiel Fellowship class โค๏ธReplying to @thielfellowship10 years and 226 Fellows later, Thiel Fellowship projects and companies are worth $70 billion and 99% say they learned more during their Fellowship than they would have in a classroom. businesswire.com/news/home/2020โฆ
- as the creator of @darkforest_eth: neither myself nor to the best of my knowledge any of the co-creators of DF have any affiliation to or knowledge about this project the only former contributor who i'm aware is involved is @smsunarto, who contributed to DF for ~12wks in 2020
- the @latticexyz team is probably the single most exciting place for an Ethereum engineer to be working right now. we could only have dreamed of the MUD stack in the @darkforest_eth days (fittingly, most of the original DF team works on or with lattice these days...)We're hiring across the engineering stack. If you want to build ambitious Ethereum software or infra to scale the EVMโs capabilities, check out these roles: -Senior Infrastructure Engineer -Senior Smart Contract Engineer -Senior TypeScript Engineer lattice.xyz/careers
