Hiroshi Harada's archival YT channel getting nuked after a bunch of kids found out about Midori through TikTok is an *actual* good example of why gatekeeping can be necessary sometimes. - contrast this against a general film database site like letterboxd and you will understand why only watching anime will make your taste in anime worse
