Oh hey! On Wednesday, I'll be having gender affirming surgery. In a world where trans rights are trying to be stripped away, I think it's important to celebrate these moments (even if it's still surgery and surgery is y'know, not not scary). But I am also so privileged... ?/?

My mom had the feeling of losing a son when I came out. She since realized I was a happier, fuller, healthier and more truthful human being me. She has since unconditionally supported and loved me in every way imaginable and I love her back. Elon Musk is a fucking idiot.

Let's just talk about why anti-trans legislations claims that "they are protecting children" are bogus. First, the treatment for trans kids include changing a child's name, pronouns and clothing, all of which affirm their gender identity. This often happens after lots (1/?)

So the amount of love I received here was incredibly heartwarming. Unfortunately, my surgeon's office made a mistake and realized I needed a pre-op appt when they initially told me I didn't. Surgery postponed. It will be fine but today has been frustrating.

My surgery is covered by provincial healthcare. I will be recovering at my parents and near my family who are incredibly supportive. I have friends who have asked what I've needed and I'm so lucky to be in a place where I don't really need anything. 2/?
