With the current debate between @GeorgeMonbiot and @AllanRSavory leaving folk on both sides struggling to feel heard (including me) I thought I’d try and explain a bit more about why the grazing GM refers to and the grazing AS refer to are not the same - bear with me! 🧵 1/20

Female farmers! Could you take a minute to reply with a photo telling me who you are, what and where you farm? A follower has a young daughter who was sad because she was told farming is for boys…but seeing us lady farmers bossing it is helping to change that! 🧑🏼‍🌾 💃

I had no idea this morning what an incredible response I’d get from women across the world to my request to share photos & farming stories to inspire a young girl…it’s been a wonderful wonderful thing to see so many beautiful, smiling faces - proud to farm. Thank you ladies 😘

It is bizarre that food production (which keeps us alive) gets more pressure to reduce its footprint than fast fashion, totally unnecessary flights for holidays, the film industry & motorsports. I’m not saying we don’t have a part to play but the legislative focus seems warped.

“There are certain emissions (from food production) that we cannot do without & others where more significant emission cuts can be made without affecting the essentials of life… The real threat to farmers’ future prosperity lies in the very food chain they form the basis of.”

If you are the person who went up the verge to get around the car blocking the road with its hazards on AND dismantled my road crossing wire & then drove at my husband & cows & allowed your dog to bark at them as they tried to pass you, all because you were too impatient to wait

Over the moon and beyond elated that both our herds scanned at 100% in calf today 😃 Here’s hoping for an easy(ish) winter weather wise so we can cruise through to spring 🌱

I am frankly appalled that @NFUStweets are calling for those areas identified as Ecological Focus Areas to be brought into production as a response to a humanitarian crisis. And this is why 🧵/1

3.5 years ago we had 2 heifers on 18acres. Today we are managing 70+head of cattle across 280 upland acres all on 100% pasture diets and out 365. I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved, but mostly I am hugely grateful for all the support from other people.
