True story: I chucked a bunch of FKs into a finishing model and came up with, from a list of 402 players that have taken 10 or more FKs, James Ward-Prowse 1st, Lionel Messi 2nd and... Cristiano Ronaldo 402nd

- Thing is, arguably, there's no conceivable "tactical decision" that legitimately puts Mesut Ozil outside a list of 18 players for any team in the world.
- Leeds are a bit special in how they press, barely anyone in world football looks anything like they do in this all zone PPDA chart *casts eye to top left and annotated title*
- My City take is that they are only THIS dominant in the PL cos of Guardiola, and once he's gone they will likely revert to being *one* of a group of best/well funded teams. You don't know what you've got til it's gone; maybe someone could write a song with this sentiment idk
- This Saturday at 3pm, Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle and Man City are all scheduled to play meaning that this weekend in the UK you can't legally watch *any* of last season's top 4 unless you are in the stadium
- Man Utd are like 50+ shots to ~15 across two games and they've drawn both 1-1. Very much a classic "stick with it lads" kinda scenario that will likely get lost amongst the angst of what are essentially bad results
- If I was in a role of power at Arsenal, I'd say to Arteta "coach your philosophy, don't worry about results and tell me which positions you think we need players for" and i'd spend the next 6 months using the smart people at the club to target and evaluate summer transfers.
