    Look, the carping media will focus on the in-person attendance numbers, but the important thing is Trump dominated a national TV news cycle and got out his key message that he wants to reduce coronavirus testing to conceal the scale of the epidemic.

    White House officials don’t get to gin up cultural division for sport and then complain it’s unfair for them to face cultural backlash when they’re out in public. I would love to see a less politicized social sphere. The Trump WH is the #1 enemy of that objective.

    Among other things, what this shows is they're using the term "the coronavirus" internally like everyone else and are throwing this up publicly because they would rather have an argument about political correctness than discuss the response itself.
