Cocomelon is too overstimulating for children and is the equivalent of feeding them sugary cereal or jingling keys in front of them to keep them entertained. It’s not even a show, it’s a compilation of poorly animated nursery rhyme videos. Children deserve way better.

The World Health Organization recommends that children below the age of two should receive ZERO screen time. TV is not to be used as a virtual babysitter, neither are iPads. I will give my children plenty of stimulating toys that are age-appropriate.

And here’s my personal list of some safe shows that I’ll let my young children watch. However, the WHO does recommend that kids only get 1-2 hours of screen time tops when they’re young. I won’t use TV as “background noise” for them. I’ll play Laurie Berkner and other safe music.

When I’m a mother, I won’t let my kids watch it. My children will watch only PBS Kids and other age-appropriate shows I select for them, when they’re old enough. This article is great:

This one line really hit me, a Jewish girl, close to home. I was squeaking happily hearing Libby say this. When I was a kid I could have only imagined a cartoon character just like me saying something like this, and now it’s real. Thank you to Disney for #TheGhostAndMollyMcGee.
