    In June 2020, so a month after the Cummings intro, the BBC Board decided that in my case politics should exclude. Tim Davie had offered me a job on the Board, but the non-execs decided they didn’t want someone with a Labour background.

    BBC Sounds leads the way…. According to a report from @risj_oxford, BBC Sounds is used by the highest proportion of #podcast listeners in the UK, ahead of Apple and Spotify (p27) #PSB

    VPR is a girls' football team (my daughter plays for them). Pls read the statement below - the club state that they had booked an astro pitch for the older girls to train on Thursdays, but have been locked out in favour of a casual boys' team. I thought we were past this....

    I'm seeing lots of orgs asking staff to come back a specific number of days a week. At UAL, we don't feel we know enough to give that kind of guidance, so we're asking them to experiment and learn. This is a social change, not just a switch in locations .

    In the BBC’s case, part of the answer to Emily Maitlis’ concerns is getting to the root cause of that caution: namely that the Government of the day has almost untrammelled power over setting the licence fee and reviewing the Charter.

    To celebrate my first official day leading UAL, here's the view from the 8th floor of our LCF building - £150m of investment in East London.  The team have adapted to working under social distancing, and are adding a floor every 3 to 4 weeks.

    Don’t know which non-execs - arguably it was a legitimate part of their role as a unitary board. I don’t think it was political, about supporting one party. It was institutional - a moment of fear and vulnerability. So we need to make the institution less vulnerable to politics
