- Approached a street vendor to buy 2 corn cobs. He gestured his fellow corn vendor to come and said “kuha ka isa sayo”. They sold me one cob each with smiles on their faces. What a great sight—to see people share and think about others in the midst of difficulty.
- Paying in the dept store Lady behind me: “Hey, who came first?” Me: “I did, because you are behind me.” Lady behind me: “So ok, I’ll be the gentleman.” Me: “Ok, good.” If you’re over 65, pregnant or with disabilities, sure go ahead. But lady, convenient feminism has no place.

- I grew up in a home na default pasigaw magsalita kahit hindi galit. Nadala ko sya pagtanda, not even recognizing na nagtataas ng boses in regular conversations. Of course, this is my responsibility to solve this & mindfulness is key, but reverting is sometimes inevitable

- Pet peeve — after getting the restaurant bill Friend 1: Libre mo na ako, mas mataas naman kita mo. Friend 2: Sige na libre mo na kami. Using how much someone earns to justify who should pay for group expenses is plain wrong. You ate your share, you pay for it. Equals.
- Timely quote I saw on Facebook: “When political views result in the suffering of another human being, they are no longer political views - they are moral choices.”
- Unsuccessful visa applications should qualify for partial refunds. Why keep the entire fee if denied? It's already a dehumanizing experience to prove your worth just to visit, especially when their nationals freely come here. Least you can do is return money beyond admin costs.
