    This might surprise you as much as it did me but last evening, at the completion of signing day, my team and I were let go from Mississippi State Football. We weren’t given an explanation, and when I asked if I could ask any questions , I was told “I’m sorry, no.” (long🧵)

    After 7 years as Creative Director at Alabama Football, I’ve been let go. I have gotten to work with some amazing people, do some incredible work and I am thankful for every opportunity my family and I were afforded.

    The lack of humanity that has overtaken college athletics is a concerning trend. If you find yourself working for someone who fights for you, even when things go off course, cherish that and then emulate that. It’s becoming more and more rare by the day.

    I have worked for Coach Saban and his program for 13 seasons. Seven as Creative Director for Football. I’ve been blessed with the chance to be in locker rooms and film his speeches for over 150 games. Being a part of his program changes you - in ways that can’t be quantified.

    Abrupt endings can bring a lot of fear and confusion, but God is doing a good thing! If He has something more exciting than Alabama Football lined up, I can’t imagine the adventures to come! If anyone out there is looking for someone to lead your creative team, I’d love to talk!

    I’m not even sure how many State fans follow me, but you should know: Lebby and his staff are some of the best coaches and men I’ve ever worked with. They care about the players & staff, and they are resetting a culture from scratch. That is not easy.

    Being abruptly let go after barely getting the wheels off the ground on a department that did not exist last February is not right, and at the very least we need to know, specifically, where we went wrong to avoid making the same mistakes. We won’t get that explanation.

    If this has become an industry where fear of failure or criticism is the wind that steers the ship, then creativity and innovation will be seen as a threat. And punished. When tension and pressure run high, make sure you are in a place that fully supports what you are doing.
