If this statement is right - that there was no consultation with EFL or non-lge clubs over key changes to the national knockout competition - then heads should roll, and all clubs should stand with Tranmere. Cast of enablers will be interesting too. Game at the highest is rotten.

Here at Carlisle United, a group of young fans are giving up their half-term week to spruce up the Warwick Road End at Brunton Park. It's their own initiative and is backed by the club and fan representatives. Absolutely fantastic stuff. More coverage to follow @newsandstar #cufc

"Your club" is the most insidious part of this. It tries to present billionaires/obscenely wealthy clubs making 55 employees redundant as an unavoidable part of the people's game. Dismal.

Not been on here for a while, and won't be for a bit longer, and here is why: our beautiful daughter Susie, born last Tuesday. Her mum is a hero, the maternity staff at the Cumberland Infirmary are wonderful, her dad is utterly besotted - and sleep is a fading memory... 🥰
