    I worked with Matthew Perry nine years ago and got to know him a little. He was extremely thoughtful and generous, even letting us stay in his home, for no reason other than kindness. Anyway, when someone is that kind, you should let people know, hence this tweet.

    These reports about a rise in anxiety: I wonder if some other fellow long-term sufferers also feel weirdly calm. My theory is that we rehearse catastrophic what-if situations in our heads so often when a real crisis happens we're quite good at it.

    I'm going to tell you my Concorde story. Many years ago the UK radio presenter Chris Evans was supposed to go on a private plane to Minneapolis to meet Prince. They had a spare seat and asked me if I wanted it. I said, "YES I DO."

    This pandemic is bringing out the best in the best people and the worst in the worst. Helpful, considerate people are being more so than ever, but impulsive, irresponsible people are too. It's like a wild amplification of our character traits.
