I was involved in a misunderstanding with the Indian media. Confusion over the award presented to India's PM @narendramodi by my friend Jag Sheth and The World Marketing Summit. Here's my @marketingjour interview to clear up the confusion: tinyurl.com/y724cb7m

2/2 @narendramodi's efforts have resulted in extraordinary economic, social and technological advances in India. His winning the first award raises the bar for future recipients.

Am delighted to hear the news today that Prime Minister Modi of India received the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize. This confirms our judgment in awarding PM Modi this January the Philip Kotler Presidential Award for pursuing the triple bottom line of people, planet and profits.

The superrich showed their humanity by contributing 850 million Euros to rebuild Notre Dame. But where are they when it comes to rebuilding the broken lives of the poor or their schools or hospitals?. Who will be the first billionaire to set an example for the rest.

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos might spend more than $350 billion of their private money into getting to Mars or building space cities. Yet wouldn't the world respect them more if they invested their funds in producing better earth-based food production, education, and health?

History is replete with mad kings who were cruel, lacked governance skills and a sense for reality. Many were mad for their baffling actions and unreasonable behavior. The citizen’s problem: figure out how to put such a deranged leader into the mad house where he belongs.

We need to organize a global “buyer strike.” 1. When people buy less, it reduces inflation. 2. Many people over eat, gain weight and shorten their lives. 3. We buy too much clothing. 4. “Less can be more.” Stop endless buying and growth. Let’s live leaner better lives.

Finally, companies say they are switching from the limited goal of maximizing shareholder wealth to “making the world better.” Hopefully, every company's annual report will include how that company made the world better. We can then know and buy from the good guys.

Just read Martin Lindstrom's new short book Buy.ology for a Coronavirus world. He shows how customer behavior is likely to change in the post-Covid world. Full of fascinating details and experiences. Will make you think about your own behavior now and after Covid.
