- NMMI has made school history, winning their first national championship in football. NMMI 31 Iowa Western 13. NMMI is 2021 NJCAA National Champions.
- UNM Athletics cut a nationally successful gymnastics program under head coach Rusty Mitchell in 1999. I never thought they would repeat a similar act and cut a very successful men's soccer team. The unfortunate part is that the kids in all of the sports cut didn't make the mess.
