    Nikolas Andreas Doucet, age 8, died painlessly of sudden cardiac arrest on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at 7:03 PM Central time. He was buried on Friday November 16, 2024. The following was the eulogy that I, his father, gave at his graveside. 1/X

    In my day job I analyze blockchain games, and the only ones so far I've found that deal in real money and are plausibly "sustainable" are the kind where most players should expect to regularly lose money

    Okay, the day has finally come. I am forced to grudgingly admit that I have found a blockchain game that legitimately does something with Blockchain that is genuinely new, innovative, and that you can't do with a centralized service. That game is Dark Forest.

    My very lukewarm Elon take - He has accomplished great things that probably wouldn't have been accomplished without him - He did not accomplish those things alone - His worst enemy is himself and he makes tons of unforced errors - I am glad SpaceX and Tesla exist

    To this day, I am super mad at all the people who put for the codswallop that HTML5 was this perfect replacement for Flash. It's been 10 years since "Thoughts on Flash" was published and HTML5 STILL doesn't (in actual practice) replicate what mattered about Flash.
