As a whole, I’m very happy that we are finally embracing what the rest of the world has known for decades: that cities and streets are for people first.
My hope is that we build upon this and eventually pedestrianize most of Gastown permanently.

The Gastown Pedestrian pilot has just started and it’s already a million times better. So much less noise and anxiety.

I’m the author of this report. It’s important to note that the cost assumes we adopt the best procurement and construction practices used in places like Italy and Spain where they build HSR at low costs.
