    I kinda miss when "AI Twitter" was folks doing AI research or app development, posting under their own identities. Slightly more intellectual depth than anime avatars whose main AI-related qualification is paying for a ChatGPT subscription.

    how can someone very confidently claim that airplanes aren't the pathway to moon travel, when they're clearly the most successful thing to ever happen in aviation? i would get it if they say "it's unlikely" or something, but "airplanes will NEVER fly to the moon" is such a

    How can someone very confidently claim that LLM are not pathway to AGI, when its clearly the most successful thing ever happened in ML? I would get it if they say "its unlikely" or something, but "It will *NEVER be the road to AGI* is such a radical claim

    "infinite context length" is such a nerdsnipe. do we really believe attending to arbitrarily long sequences with lossless token-level precision is even computationally tractable or is it just hypespeak for "larger context than today" and i'm just interpreting it too literally?

    There is an implicit moral contract between someone who trained for a profession and society that their job will not be made useless during their lifetime. Consequently society has to take care of people for whom it happens.
