How will the flower bloom in 2100? We collaborated with artist Annelie Berner to create a generative web tool that visualizes how the Circaea Alpina flower might evolve in response to future climate conditions. I've finally put together a v1 of full case study including info

Say hello to @nodes_io - a new way to create with code on the web by @variable_io. We use it to create interactive installations, visualise data, experiment with generative algorithms, build custom design tools and more. Find out what Nodes can do at nodes.io

Alien like plants animated of GPU. Plants are procedural. Colors are random. Each element it's own instanced geometry. WebGL. Realtime. Variable. Fast.

Forget wind. This is the same 80x64 cloth but the right one has noise added to it's constraint resting lengths and is squashed on z axis to loosen the fabric. Adds so much to the complexity of the surface! 30fps... in JavaScript. Can't believe it. Link for live version below.

Search is the biggest scam in UI now. It almost never works. How do you find stuff that is not in your top 10 results of mini snippets? We need more explorative interfaces taking advantage of context and association.

What makes such interfaces not survive mass market adoption? All of them get inevitably normalized. Gestures replaced with popup menu actions, sidebars, toolbars, breadcrumbs and other "user friendliness". Why can't we have Pro interfaces that require learning?
I'm thinking one tangible use case for this notes app will be for interior designers to keep client mood boards with annotated photos, long notes, to do lists, meeting notes and short scribbles - all together in the same space.
