Most attorneys don’t want the jurors “tainted” by a fellow juror who may explain the law differently than what they get from trial. No outside info is best. A lawyer who gets on the jury often ends up the foreperson for exactly this reason. So we get struck 🤷🏽‍♀️

My most recent attempt: Make it through voir dire, despite saying I teach crim law & crim pro. Next break, marshal says come with me. In chambers, judge: Are you the dean of our local law school? Me: Yes. Judge: Well, you are excused of course. But how am I doing out there?

Some personal news: after avoiding wheat, sugar, cheese, milk & more + exercising & stretching every day + drinking enough water & getting 6.5 hrs of sleep each night over the past 6 wks, the new me has no measurable difference from the old me. Plz don’t let me do this again.

This is my THIRD day waking up before dawn, going to an airport, and trying to get home from Lisbon to LAX. Failures by @Delta @Iberia_en @tapairportugal etc => I’ve spent thousands of €€€ and $$$ on flights, hotels, taxis, meals, and more. Also my family is miserable.
