    Culinary tip #387 : Never serve risotto when wearing flip flops, as any bits falling on your foot will scald. Culinary tip #636 : Always look where you’re about to place your hand when dealing with a hot pan, as missing the handle and grabbing the side can result in mild burns.

    Arrived in the UK last night from France. Had all the quarantine forms filled in and ready. Guess what? No-one stopped us, no-one looked at the forms, nothing. Drove straight out of the terminal and on the road. Quarantine? It’s a joke! #Quarantine

    France: wear a mask in shops, cinemas, etc; observe distances; show a vaccination certificate or test result in a restaurant. UK: be sensible France: 4,500 daily average cases UK: 44,000 daily average cases. Spot the difference? Oh, and the French way really isn’t hard.

    We had Brexit voting Brits with a holiday home near us, they used to come for six months of the year. We pointed out they couldn’t do that post Brexit. “Very unfair, typical EU” they said. Put their house on the market. “We’re buying in Spain.” 🥴

    I MADE IT……. Today is my birthday. I’ve graced the planet for 75 years, ¾ of a century. That’s a few weeks less than the NHS, but I’m in better condition, and a few weeks more than King Charles, but I’m less of a drain on public resources. Happy birthday me.

    Goodbye United Kingdom hello Little England. I’m now betting that by the time of the next election.... Ireland will be re-united Scotland will be independent Wales will be pushing for independence Foodbanks will have trebled NHS will be private I’ll still be living in France.
