1 year ago, I stood in front of this mirror at 605 pounds and decided I was taking my life back. Today, I stand here at 484.6 lbs. Down over 120. I have a long way to go to claiming victory. But I look back on this year with pride. And I’m unashamed and unafraid to keep going.

Pleased to announce I’ve lost ~100 pounds in 8 1/2 months. Photo on the left is when Coach Hurley told me he believes in me. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the support from all of you. This is only the beginning of an amazing journey. 🥛

It took me a long time to have the courage to share my actual weight publicly. I constantly deal with feelings of shame and embarrassment. But I’ve realized I can’t help the choices I made in the past. And deciding to be the best version of myself is the best choice I can make.

Weight loss update, 7/11: 50 pounds. Big 5-0. The half century mark. The first 50 have been really tough. The next 50 will be even tougher. The next 50 after that, who knows? This is the hole I put myself in. But I’m determined to dig myself out, and I’m confident in my path.
