Starting a thread on the thesis "Every crypto project is becoming an interop project (whether you think of it as such or not)" Also will call out the based folks who recognize that they shouldn't start from scratch, and instead leverage OSS abstractions like @hyperlane

Some unfiltered thoughts from an interop founder of 3 years finding all of Ethereum "suddenly" talk about interop being the most urgent thing to do: - I too believe in the ingenuity of developers who will experiment different ways of building applications/rollups. The same way

2024 was insane and 2025 doesn't look like it's going to hold back. Grateful for everybody who is making @hyperlane for what it is, a credible approach to unifying permissionless application infrastructure

    Hyperlane's 2024: Year 1, Expansion Era
2024 was all about scale for us - and boy did we scale. When we kicked off the year, we told the core team that '24 would be make or break for @hyperlane. There's been a whole lot of making, with some...

I would say in intention and goals, very similar (i.e. modular verification). I think in terms of strategy and execution, very different. Obviously biased, but for chains and ecosystems, L0 is more of a vendor, while Hyperlane is more of an open source framework (with a service

When we started @hyperlane everybody was like "why join this busy category". As much as interop is on your timeline right now, nobody including our team, is really prepared for just how much interop we will need and will come, whether you like it or not. It's just the beginning..

This is Ethereum at its best. A diverse group of innovators coming together to build something better together. What started as an exploration to give rollups intents in a completely open and permissionless way, blossomed into a shelling point for shared contracts and tooling.

This is in essence is the difference between LayerZero and Hyperlane. One views the building of the message layer (and Ethereum!) as permissioned, and one that correctly recognizes that's it has to be permissionless like crypto itself. As an app builder, i know what I'd choose

It is permissionless to build on Ethereum. It is not permissionless to build Ethereum. It is permissionless to build on LayerZero. It is not permissionless to build LayerZero. And nor should it be - the Ethereum protocols requires frequent updates and/or changes in order to

Introducing 1.5 years too late (and with a funny timing to the @lifiprotocol post) 😅 But better late than never to make the case for why warp tokens are not just another "standard" for proprietary rails, but an actual framework for sovereign protocols to share interop tooling.

Another banger from the best interop educators in town! Definitely didn't envy @arjunnchand and team to try to be neutral among all the teams nitpicking each other. Needless to say, you should read this asap, but also wanted to add some thoughts that weren't able to make it in 👇

In my convos with people, many have a simplistic mental model of warp tokens are, due to "competition", so here is a thread with how they are different. TLDR Warp Tokens are far more accessible (deploy in 10 mins) AND apply to more diverse use cases
