- As a Puerto Rican American, it’s painful to hear this kind of rhetoric. Puerto Rico isn’t a ‘floating island of garbage’; it’s home to millions of U.S. citizens who deserve respect. This divisive language has no place in our country. Let’s make our voices heard at the polls. VOTE“There’s a lot going on.
