When BTS meets the National Gallery.⭐ Thanks to RM from @bts_bighit for paying a visit to the museum and sharing some of his favorites, including paintings by Giorgio Morandi, Claude Monet, Chaim Soutine, Amedeo Modigliani, Paul Cezanne, Georges Seurat, and more.
A person sits with their legs crossed on a white wood bench. Behind them is a marble wall with the words National Gallery of Art carved into it.
A still-life painting of cartons and bottles in pale shades of yellow, peach, and blue.
A painting of a woman standing looking over her shoulder at us while she holds a parasol. Past her a child wearing a white hat looks towards us, but grass covers our view of his legs. Behind them is a blue sky with white clouds painted in thick brushstrokes.

We all need a quiet place to stop, think, and momentarily get away from it all. Just take it from DK. #SEVENTEEN @pledis_17

“Everything that is visible hides something that is invisible.” — René Magritte
A woman wearing a mauve-pink dress rides a horse through a wooded landscape with tall, thin, pole-like trees in this vertical painting. However, the bodies of the horse and rider are shown in front of some of the trees and disappear behind others, confusing the eye. The woman has pale skin and wears a brimless cap the same color as her dress over blond hair. She rides erect, holding the reins to the reddish bay-brown horse, which walks with the back left and front right hooves raised. The tree trunks are painted with sage and forest-green vertical dashes against moss green. The leafy canopies are painted with dabs of grass green. The forest in the background is indicated with short strokes of spring, sage, and mint green. The grass below is created with dashes of emerald green and coffee brown against a golden-tan background.

“Seeing Cézanne's artworks was one of the highlights during my visit to the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. I love how he structured the nature, trees, and the farmhouse in the foreground.” — RM of BTS (@bts_bighit)

⬇ Drop a comment with what else you would include on a tour of your National Gallery favorites. We might suggest Antoine Vollon's "Mound of Butter." 🧈
A painting of a large mound of yellow butter with a knife stuck into it. The mound rests in a white cloth on a wood table. In front of it are two white eggs.

While our doors may be closed, we'll still bring the Gallery to you online. During our closure, we’ll take you on a tour, gallery by gallery. Each day we’ll focus on one room and the works of art on view within it. #MuseumFromHome
