It’s been a privilege working for @TomTugendhat on such a great campaign with an unbelievable team. Good luck to the remaining candidates. And this isn’t the last you’ve seen of Tom at the top end of British politics I wager.

Are the majority of Conservative members actually conservative? I can't see how willfully pursuing a policy which they know might break up the Union, damage the economy and destroy their party is in anyway consistent with the definition of conservatism...

YouGov’s MRP now showing Workington will not go blue. Those 8% of Brexit party voters critical.

Just a thought but perhaps, just maybe replacements for the 4 most senior roles would have been lined up in advance of the ‘planned shake up of the team’ to make it seem, well you know, organised.

The tipping age at which someone is more likely to vote conservative v Labour is 66 - new @YouGov data of 4,000 people for @WPI_Strategy. Not directly comparable as sample size was much larger but similar YouGov poll in 2019 had it at 39.

Tom is consistently showing he can reach out to the general public more than other candidates. MPs should take note given there’ll be an election in 2 years.

"My working assumption is we'll have a general election in the second half of this year" Speaking in the East Midlands, Rishi Sunak was asked if he knew when Britons will head to the polls - but didn't rule out a May election. Politics latest: trib.al/YKanzN3 📺Sky 501

Very smart move by Rishi to appoint @Will_Tanner as his deputy chief of staff. He’s led @ukonward superbly well - including helping to focus minds on where the 2019 election might be won - and has experience, policy clout and political smarts. He’s also a really good guy.

Blimey - big scoop in tomorrow’s @Telegraph by @NickJTimothy on a supposed plan by Lord Malloch Brown and George Soros among others to “topple the govt” and prevent Brexit by getting MPs to vote against the final deal regardless of the content.
    telegraph.co.uk
Elitist Remainers are plotting to bring down the Government. This is a wake-up call for Tory MPs
The time is now,” said Lord Malloch-Brown, the former Labour minister, as he concluded his presentation.
