To the #Tigray survivors, victims and their families: thank you for entrusting us with your stories. The recognition for our body of work on Ethiopia serves to counter the false narratives around the reality in Tigray. I’m so incredibly proud to lead this wonderfully dogged team.

This investigation was 7-months in the making, what was most shocking to us is the extent of Russia’s subversion of the Sudanese state, it’s entrenching of Sudan’s Generals at the expense of the hopes for Democracy. While the US - and the world - watch on.

In our latest investigation we witnessed mutilated bodies washing up on the shores of the Sitit river. Our findings point to a campaign of torture, terror and mass incarceration in Humera #Tigray. Bearing all the hallmarks of genocide as defined by the UN

Those we’re speaking to in #Tigray say since yesterday there’s been an Ethiopian Gov comms blackout; phones across the region - other than Mekelle - are down. No internet. Roads into Tigray blocked, air travel halted. People are scared as to what could be coming next.

Months after their initial withdrawal from #Tigray regional capital, Tigray’s elected government has forced Ethiopian Gov’s withdrawal. Celebrations on the ground in Mekelle but also real concern as to what could happen next. cnn.com/2021/06/28/wor…

Ethiopian soldiers cheering and laughing as they execute unarmed men. We have verified new images and stills of the Mahibere Dego massacre. What is now clear is the original video was a “trophy video”, clear evidence of extent of impunity in #Tigray.

Our latest - Ethiopian Airlines gun running in the war on #Tigray. Already in violation of its trade agreement w/US (AGOA) ,we shared our findings with US Gov, who say will only review terms in 2022. Till then Ethiopia will continue to benefit financially.

If you take nothing else away from this piece, the most important thing is that this isn’t over. #Axum and much of Tigray is still besieged by Eritrean and Ethiopian soldiers. Aid is still obstructed. The suffering you see in this piece - still - persists. cnn.com/2021/05/12/afr…
