understand this: it will be 100x easier for any financial institution or other organization to explain why those chose Ethereum L1 or L2 than it will be to explain why they chose literally anything else that's it. that's the multi-trillion dollar thesis

There is a real chance that traditional institutions end up shipping the highest value add products in crypto. They’re already at scale (orders of magnitude larger than DeFi today), they understand their own pain points better than anyone else and now see how crypto can help them

If “fast, cheap global payments” and “internet capital markets” are examples of shiny objects, then what are we even trying to do onchain? Seems that one explanation is just that if a non-EVM network does something well, some people pivot to saying it’s not worth doing #solana

DeFi is about more than just taking the existing financial system and moving it on chain. It’s about building something new that is more resilient while also better fostering innovation. There’s a long way to go and a lot of work on the way, but the path to get there is clear.

On-chain capital formation doesn’t look like traditional markets, so why would you expect market structure to mirror tradfi? On-chain finance is the future and AMMs are the future of trading on chain. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

With all of the NASDAQ throughput comparisons going around it seems under-explored whether sending millions of messages per second to update quotes in an order book is really the inevitable end state of global trading Maybe it is, but it seems less obvious than most people think

One very cool thing about this is that every post about it I’ve seen from Solana ecosystem folks is celebrating what this enables for user applications. Nobody is concerned about locking up less SOL in state rent or how that affects supply/demand. Solve users’ problems or die.
