The sheer fact that they even showed this to him is emblematic for what was to come. What we have now isn’t any better in any way. It’s actually worse because it’s mediocrity hiding behind a thin veneer of other people’s work. And of course it gets gobbled up by your type…

What good is it for the studios to believe that when the audience doesn’t anymore? Taste is something that you have to learn, and, sadly, most people don’t have any. Just listen to Drake and tell me then, with a straight face, that his audience is in any way sophisticated.
