- Replying to @nrken19 @hasaneren61 and @TAGACATIreland (the entire island) still today hasn't recovered from the 1850s potato famine. Today ~7mm, then ~8mm. Throw about 1 million Irish into America, wait 5 generations averaging 2.1 living, reproducing offspring, and you get about 41 million people with some Irish ancestry
