Missing context - a non-profit offered to defend him for free so they don't need money for his defense. It should be returned to the donors as the fundraiser was explicitly for his legal costs.

Because GenZ determines their reality by what their peers are saying. For instance, if they watch a YouTube video with some information they're not sure is true, they'll check the comments to see if a consensus has formed, then adopt whatever conclusion the commenters drew.
